Go!Go! Metamong Field Day is a guerrilla exhibition curated by Suji Han and Bobae Jeon. We teamed up with artists who do processive and organic kinds of work. The location and participating artists changed every time we had a show. To us, one of the crucial reasons behind curating this exhibition was to encourage artists to become financially independent. Currently, artists in Korea do not get financial support for what they do, even when having a show with a major museum. In order to criticize that, we received funding through open calls, operated by the city of Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, and rewarding the participating artists with the funding.
We hope Go!Go! Metamong Field day will continue for years.
